This lamp is tall (about 6 1/2 feet) with an oval cross-section, like a flattened pipe.  The material is dyed resin in a wood background -- in this case, pine.  A six-foot fluorescent lamp hides inside.  The effect is stunning, like no lighting you have ever seen. Thin strips of translucent plexiglass run down each side allowing light to pour out the edges.  See also doors and tables built with the same material.  Sometimes there are bubbles trapped in the resin, sometimes cracks, like water, like clear blue ice.  Other colors can be made, even a rainbow.
