Midnight River
I’ve run the river at night a few times and
written about it in an article titled Things That Go Babble In The Night.
It can be terrifying in rapids, all waves undetected until you’re in them,
or under them. In smoother waters, when the terror calms with the
water, there is a parallel river of stars overhead bordered by canyon walls,
twisting and following the river on which you float. It is a most
beautiful, awesome meeting of earth and cosmos.
