This
small table/cabinet has special side door access, easily reached from bed.
The main front door is bookmatched cherry, selected from a board I found
in the "throw away" bin at the hardwood supplier. Too knotty and warped
for much normal use, I sawed thin veneers from the board and flipped one
over to make a mirror image of the grain (bookmatching). Because the
grain is mirror matched, the two sides of the door also reflect light differently,
giving an eye-catching iridescence to the front door panel. |
