Alabaster
is an extraordinary material. It is a relatively soft, natural
stone, each piece unique in color with inclusions of streaks and blends.
Because of this a sculpture must truly grow from the stone itself.
This piece ("Peace Dove," left) started as a snake, but the stone refused
to be such. Or perhaps, I was flying myself that day. "Peace Dove"
